Bu Ngiong’s Glowing Heart
G001

Bu-ngiong in Hakka means wife. In early age, the persevering image of married Hakka women is praised by posterity. However, the stereotype of women taking care of housework is out of time.

Therefore, this piece of art isn’t just for emphasizing the perseverance of Bu-ngiong but also the importance of the standing role as a woman. Made by recycling materials, a free-waste made artwork- Bu-ngiong, manifests Hakka spirit “ be cherished”. Using metal as her appearance to symbolize determination, artists also combined some natural plants as decoration and light up the artwork from the inside to present Bu-ngiong as a modern, dedicated and caring Hakka woman.
