Tea House
G01
In old times, a tea warmer was made of rice straw and stuffed with cotton. In the center was a gap in which a teapot and cups could be placed, keeping the tea nice and hot even on the coldest of winter days. These were very important to the Hakka people of the past, but the conveniences of modern life have led to a fading of their use.
Based on this concept of keeping things warm, Tea House was made for people to enter, sit in a circle, and enjoy the warmth of being with friends and family. In addition, the smell of the rice straw brings you back to the time of Taiwan’s agriculture- based society and the wisdom associated with hard work and being content with what you have.
